The Waldron Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Rich Mountain Community College to organize a community event to assist families and students with the basic supplies to begin the school year. Waldron Back to School Bash, is a community event to help families in Scott County start the school year in a positive way. School supplies can be expensive and cause a financial hardship for families and we are hoping the businesses of our community can join together in an effort to assist these families so that NO child has to go without.
Students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to receive a free “back to school” starter kit that will include a back pack and the basic school supplies. As a community partner, your donations and support with one or more of the following options, would be very beneficial to meeting the needs of the children in our community.
You can choose one or all of the following:
Make a monetary contribution to allow us to purchase school supplies. (Checks would need to be made payable to Rich Mountain Community College or the Waldron Area Chamber of Commerce, Memo: Waldron Back to School Bash) $ ______________
Purchase and provide school supplies from the list below, which can be dropped off at Rich Mountain.
Man a school supply table at the event for disbursement of supplies that have been donated. (Distribution will take place the first week in August however the exact date and location will be communicated once determined.)

Business After Hours
The Waldron Area Chamber of Commerce, Nook & Cranny and The Hall to host a Business After Hours from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 25th.
What is a Business After Hours (BAH) you might ask? It is a business/social gathering of Chamber members and their guests at a selected business. As a business after hours sponsor, the BAH provides an opportunity to showcase the products and services of your business, and offers area business people a chance to get to gather informally, see old friends, make new business contacts, and find out what our area businesses have to offer. The BAH generally takes place at the end of the business day and is usually held on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening. Representatives of area businesses, their employees, area official and individuals from our community are invited to attend.
Our first BAH will be hosted by Kim Avila and Ryan Walker with Nook & Cranny. Nook & Cranny is located at 274 S Main St. Hors D’oeuvres and beverages will be served and all guest will register for some great door prizes.
Come out and support this business and promote our community. We would love to see you there.
